Student diversity initiatives and programs

The Hedgeman Center for Student Diversity Initiatives and Programs helps create and sustain an inclusive community that appreciates, celebrates, and advances student and campus diversity at 狼友社区.

We support, empower, and promote the success of all students, with particular attention to US students of color, indigenous students, first-generation college students, and others from historically marginalized backgrounds. In partnership with other university and community members, our initiatives help prepare students to live, serve and succeed in a diverse university and world.

2025 Social Justice Symposium

Mark your calendars for the 2025 Social Justice Symposium (SJS) on April 1 through 4! Each year, the SJS honors a late social justice activist, movement, or organization. This year, we'll recognize the life and legacy of Shirley Chisholm (1924--2005), the first Black woman elected to Congress and the first Black woman to run for president from a major political party.

We're kicking off the symposium with a keynote address by Seena Hodges exploring Chisholm's impact on politics, leadership, and social justice, followed by other events throughout the week. Find out more about each one by following the links below.

We hope you'll join us for the Social Justice Symposium during the first week of April! Be sure to follow us on Instagram for updated news: .
